Do you ever do anything fun and crazy at your house to impress your kids? Sometimes I feel like I am on a “job interview” to be their mother! In our house, the majority of the things we do are for the kids. Sure, my husband and I have date nights, TV nights, and time away with friends, but when it comes down to it, the majority of the time I am brainstorming fun activities we can do with the kids. Aside from movie night (click here to read about movie night) our kids are enjoying “time in the fort”just hanging out and doing what boys do best…looking for aliens or being soldiers while they use the fort as “base camp”.
All you need to build a good “homemade” fort like ours is pillows, sleeping bags, bar-size chairs or any other tall chairs, a king sized sheet and some safety pins, oh…and a good imagination! The kids like to put their guns and swords, shields, a flashlight, and any other toys they need into their fort. The first time we built the fort both of the boys slept in it but the next time Carter opted to sleep in his bed so Jaxon flew solo on that mission.
