Jaxon and I headed for the family room where he cried and complained that his knees were hurting...we have been battling hurt knee's for a LONG time so I followed "the drill" and gave him some Motrin, started the shower and heated up the rice pack. Usually Jaxon will fall back asleep immediately following our "knee routine" but for some reason last night he couldn’t go back to sleep.
Since I was now wide awake I decided to let him watch some television, please note that we have not actually done this for about 3 years (pretty much since we got him on a biomedical regimen for his autism) but for some reason this week we have had multiple nights of continuous waking. Anyway, we now have quite the Christmas list started after two hours of television watching in the middle of the night.
I won't even begin to say that this was the right thing to do last night and I'm sure many parents would be ready to tell me how they can't believe I let my child watch TV. in the middle of the night, but after years of doing what I'm supposed to and not getting anywhere I am now living in survival mode and I am not afraid to talk about it!
